Description
Description
This Acropora showcases a stunning contrast with vibrant green polyps along its body and striking purple tips on its branches. Its intricate branching structure will add a dynamic visual element to any reef aquarium, providing both color and texture. As it grows, it will form an impressive colony, becoming a focal point in your tank. This specific piece is a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) item, ensuring you receive the exact coral pictured.
Acropora corals thrive under high PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation) lighting, generally ranging from 300 to 500 PAR. Strong and turbulent water flow is crucial for Acropora to deliver nutrients and remove waste; aim for multiple powerheads to create indirect flow patterns. Placement in the upper to middle sections of the reef aquarium, where lighting and flow are optimal, is recommended. Ensure there is ample space around the coral for growth and to prevent stinging other corals.
While primarily photosynthetic, Acropora benefits from supplemental feeding of very fine particulate foods such as phytoplankton or specialized SPS coral foods a few times a week. Maintaining stable water parameters is paramount for Acropora health, with ideal ranges being: Alkalinity 7-9 dKH, Calcium 400-450 ppm, Magnesium 1250-1350 ppm, Salinity 1.025-1.026 specific gravity, and Temperature 76-79°F. Consistent dosing of trace elements can also be beneficial.
Acropora can be aggressive towards other corals if they come into direct contact due to its stinging polyps. Provide adequate spacing from other corals, especially slower-growing or softer varieties. Acclimation should be a slow drip acclimation over several hours to minimize stress. Monitor for any signs of stress, such as tissue recession or color loss, during and after acclimation.
This Acropora is an excellent choice for experienced reef keepers looking to add a show-stopping piece to their collection. Its combination of vivid coloration and intricate growth patterns will provide a truly captivating display. With proper care and stable conditions, this coral will flourish and become a magnificent centerpiece, enhancing the overall beauty and biodiversity of your reef aquarium.
Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
Payment & Security
We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
