Description
Description
This Rainbow Lobophyllia showcases a stunning array of colors, including vibrant pinks, blues, and greens, creating an eye-catching display. Its fleshy polyps with distinct ridges and valleys provide a unique textural element to the reef aquarium. This coral is a true showpiece that will draw attention in any tank.
Lobophyllia corals require moderate PAR levels, typically between 75-150. Too much or too little light can lead to bleaching or dull coloration. They prefer moderate, indirect water flow to keep detritus from settling on their polyps without causing irritation. Placement on a stable rock structure in the lower to middle sections of the tank is ideal, ensuring it has ample space and does not touch other corals.
While largely photosynthetic, Lobophyllia corals benefit from supplemental feeding. Offer meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, or chopped seafood a few times a week, especially to larger specimens. Maintain stable water parameters: temperature 75-78°F, salinity 1.025-1.026, alkalinity 8-10 dKH, calcium 400-450 ppm, and magnesium 1300-1350 ppm. Regular water changes are essential for nutrient export and overall coral health.
Lobophyllia can be aggressive and possess potent sweeper tentacles, especially at night. Ensure adequate spacing from other corals to prevent stinging and damage. When introducing this coral, gradual acclimation to your lighting and water parameters is crucial to minimize stress and ensure successful integration into your reef environment.
This Rainbow Lobophyllia is an excellent choice for reef keepers looking to add bold color and unique form to their aquarium. Its relatively straightforward care requirements, combined with its striking appearance, make it a rewarding addition for both intermediate and experienced hobbyists.
Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
Payment & Security
We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
