Description
Description
This WYSIWYG Green Red Favites coral features stunning green eyes and a rich red body, creating a beautiful contrast. The intricate patterns of its polyps will add a captivating focal point to your reef aquarium. This is a truly unique specimen, ready to thrive and display its vibrant colors. Like many favites, it forms a plating or encrusting colony over time. This particular frag is already well-encrusted on its plug.
Favites corals thrive under moderate PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation) levels, ideally between 75-150 PAR. While they can tolerate lower light, their coloration will be best expressed with sufficient intensity. Moderate, indirect flow is also preferred to keep the coral clean and deliver nutrients without causing tissue damage. Direct, strong flow should be avoided as it can cause recession.
For optimal health, ensure stable water parameters: Temperature 72-78F, Salinity 1.025-1.026, Alkalinity 8-12 dKH, Calcium 400-450 ppm, Magnesium 1300-1400 ppm. Favites are generally peaceful corals, but it is wise to provide adequate spacing from other corals to prevent stinging. They are not heavy feeders but will benefit from occasional spot feeding of small meaty foods like mysis shrimp or copepods.
Acclimation for this coral should be done through a standard drip acclimation process over 30-60 minutes to allow it to adjust to your tank's water parameters. Once acclimated, place it in an area with appropriate light and flow. Observe the coral closely for the first few days to ensure it is extending its polyps and settling in comfortably.
This Green Red Favites coral is an excellent choice for both beginner and experienced reef keepers. Its vibrant coloration, relatively easy care, and unique appearance make it a stand-out addition to any mixed reef or LPS dominant tank. Bring a splash of glowing green and deep red into your aquatic display with this beautiful specimen.
Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
Payment & Security
We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
