Description
Description
This striking Red Goniopora will add an incredible pop of vibrant color and captivating movement to your reef aquarium. Its long, flowing polyps extend gracefully, creating a mesmerizing display. The deep red coloration is consistent and truly stands out under various reef lighting spectrums, making it a focal point in any tank.
Goniopora corals thrive under moderate PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation) levels, typically between 100-200. While they are photosynthetic, supplemental feeding of phytoplankton or other coral-specific foods rich in amino acids and fatty acids is highly recommended to ensure optimal health and growth. Moderate, indirect water flow is ideal, allowing the polyps to extend fully without being constantly blasted. Aim for a placement on the sandbed or lower to mid-level rockwork, ensuring it has ample space to expand without touching other corals due to its stinging tentacles. Stable water parameters are key, with alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium maintained at natural seawater levels, and nitrates/phosphates kept low but detectable.
Introducing new Goniopora specimens requires careful acclimation. Drip acclimation over several hours is the preferred method to slowly equalize salinity and temperature. Once introduced, observe the coral closely for polyp extension and color. During the initial days, it might appear retracted, but should gradually open up as it adjusts to its new environment. While generally peaceful, ensuring adequate space is crucial as its long sweepers can sting neighboring corals if in direct contact.
A Red Goniopora is an excellent choice for intermediate to advanced reef keepers looking to add a show-stopping piece to their collection. Its unique beauty and graceful movement are unmatched, providing endless enjoyment as you watch its polyps sway in the current. With proper care and attention to its specific needs, this coral will flourish and become a true centerpiece in your reef aquarium.
Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
Payment & Security
We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
