Description
Description
The Red Goniopora is a striking coral that will add a vibrant splash of color to any reef aquarium. Its delicate, flower-like polyps extend gracefully, creating a mesmerizing display of movement and visual interest. The vivid red coloration is consistent and deep, making it a focal point in any aquascape. This coral is a beautiful addition for both novice and experienced reef keepers.
Caring for your Goniopora is straightforward with proper attention to its needs. It thrives under moderate PAR (100-200) and prefers moderate, indirect water flow that allows its polyps to extend fully without being constantly blasted. Ideal placement is on a stable rockwork in the lower to middle sections of your tank. While photosynthetic, supplemental feeding with phytoplankton or finely crushed foods can greatly enhance its health and polyp extension. Maintain stable water parameters: temperature 72-78°F, salinity 1.025-1.026, alkalinity 8-12 dKH, calcium 400-450 ppm, and magnesium 1300-1400 ppm.
Goniopora corals are generally peaceful but should be given adequate space as their long polyps can sting other corals. Allow for at least a few inches of clearance from neighboring corals. Acclimation should be done using a drip method over an hour or more to minimize stress. Monitor for any signs of retraction or paling, which may indicate a need to adjust lighting or flow.
This Red Goniopora will make a stunning centerpiece or accent in your reef tank. Its brilliant color and elegant movement bring a dynamic energy to your underwater ecosystem. With its relatively easy care requirements, it is a rewarding coral to keep and observe. Providing consistent water quality and appropriate feeding will ensure this coral flourishes and enhances the beauty of your home aquarium for years to come.
Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
Payment & Security
We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
