Description
Description
This striking red Montipora offers a vibrant splash of color and a unique plating growth habit to any reef aquarium. Its intricate surface texture, characteristic of Montipora, will add visual interest as it matures and develops into a beautiful colony. The intense red coloration stands out wonderfully under actinic lighting, making it a focal point in your tank.
Montipora corals thrive under moderate to high PAR levels, roughly 200-350 PAR, to maintain their vibrant coloration and healthy growth. Moderate to high, turbulent water flow is ideal to deliver nutrients and prevent detritus accumulation. Placement in the middle to upper regions of your rockwork is generally recommended, ensuring it receives adequate light and flow without being shaded or overgrown by other corals.
While primarily photosynthetic, Montipora will benefit from occasional feeding of fine particulate foods or target feeding with zooplankton. Maintain stable water parameters: alkalinity 8-12 dKH, calcium 400-450 ppm, and magnesium 1300-1400 ppm, with nitrates and phosphates kept low but not undetectable. Montipora are generally peaceful but should be given ample space to grow as they can overgrow neighboring corals slowly.
Acclimation should be done slowly using the drip method over 1-2 hours to allow the coral to adjust to your tank's water parameters. Once acclimated, choose a stable spot with appropriate lighting and flow. With proper care, this Red Montipora will grow into a magnificent display piece, showcasing its stunning color and captivating structure.
This Red Montipora is a fantastic choice for both intermediate and experienced reef keepers looking to add a resilient and visually appealing SPS coral to their collection. Its relatively fast growth rate and captivating appearance make it a highly rewarding addition to a thriving reef ecosystem.
Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
Payment & Security
We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
