Description
Description
This stunning Red Goniopora will add a vibrant splash of color to any reef aquarium. Its long, flowing polyps create a beautiful swaying motion in the current, adding dynamic movement to your aquascape. The rich red coloration is truly captivating, especially under actinic lighting, making it a focal point in your tank.
Goniopora corals thrive under moderate PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation) levels, typically between 100-200 PAR. Place them in an area with moderate, indirect water flow to encourage polyp extension and prevent detritus accumulation. Avoid direct, strong flow as this can damage the delicate polyps. A middle to lower tank placement is generally suitable. While primarily photosynthetic, supplemental feeding with phytoplankton or other finely particulate coral foods can promote faster growth and coloration. Maintain stable water parameters: Temperature 74-78°F, Salinity 1.024-1.026, Alkalinity 8-12 dKH, Calcium 400-450 ppm, and Magnesium 1250-1350 ppm. These corals are generally peaceful but should be given adequate space as their sweeping tentacles can irritate neighboring corals.
Acclimation should be slow and gradual. Use a drip acclimation method over at least an hour to allow the coral to adjust to your tank's water parameters. Observe the coral closely for the first few days to ensure proper polyp extension and overall health. Providing a stable environment with consistent water quality is key to the long-term success of Goniopora.
Adding this Red Goniopora to your reef tank will provide a constant display of natural beauty and elegance. Its unique appearance and graceful movement make it a rewarding coral for both novice and experienced reef keepers alike. Its intense color will truly enhance the visual appeal of your underwater world.
Please note: This is not a WYSIWYG item. You will receive a coral of the same species and similar quality, but the exact specimen may vary.
Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
Payment & Security
We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
