Seachem Denitrate

Seachem de*nitrate is a porous biological filter medium for freshwater and marine aquariums. At a suitably low flow rate, its structure supports bacteria involved in nitrate reduction.

Dosage and flow

• Use approximately 500 mL for 100–200 L of water, depending on nitrate level and biological load.
• Water flow through the media should not exceed 200 L/h for the intended nitrate-reduction application.

How to use

Rinse away dust before placing the media where water will pass through it. Seachem recommends reducing very high nitrate to below 20 mg/L with water changes before use.

Monitor the result over time. The media can remain in service as biological filtration while it continues to control nitrate; it does not need routine replacement solely because it has been used.
