Teal Alveopora Coral

Alveopora corals are a popular LPS species, valued for their long, flowing polyps and peaceful nature. They are often called Daisy Corals due to their distinctive flower-like appearance. This specific specimen will bring a vibrant teal hue to your reef system. This hardy coral is a good choice for both new and experienced reef keepers looking for dynamic movement and colour. This piece measures approximately 10cm. They generally form a encrusting or mounding base with a solid skeleton covered by a thick fleshy polyp extension. The individual polyps are long and delicate, swaying gracefully in the current, and each polyp typically has 12 tentacles, though some can have up to 18. This specimen presents a striking teal coloration, creating a soft, ethereal appearance in the aquarium. For optimal health, Alveopora corals thrive under moderate lighting, ideally between 75-150 PAR. They appreciate moderate, indirect water flow to keep detritus from settling on their polyps while allowing for gentle swaying. Placement on the sand bed or in a lower to mid-level rock crevice is generally suitable. While their primary energy source comes from photosynthesis, they benefit from occasional feeding of very fine particulate foods such as zooplankton or coral-specific foods. Maintain stable water parameters with calcium levels between 400-440 ppm, alkalinity at 8-9 dKH, and magnesium between 1300-1400 ppm. Alveopora are generally peaceful corals, but ensure adequate spacing to prevent stinging from more aggressive neighbours. A slow acclimation process is always recommended.

Fish

All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.

Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.

During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.

Coral

Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.

Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.

If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed

If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
