Description

These Red Zoas are a stunning addition to any reef aquarium, featuring vibrant red polyps with a captivating central disc. They form beautiful colonies that add a splash of bold color and dynamic texture to your aquascape. Their rapid growth and captivating appearance make them a popular choice for both new and experienced reef keepers. This particular specimen is WYSIWYG, meaning what you see is exactly what you get.

Zoas are known for their relatively easy care requirements, making them excellent corals for beginners. They thrive in moderate to high PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation) lighting, typically between 75-150 PAR. While they can tolerate lower light, optimal coloration and growth are achieved under brighter conditions. A moderate, indirect water flow is ideal, allowing their polyps to gently sway without being blasted directly. Placement on the middle to lower areas of your rockwork or sand bed, depending on light intensity, is usually suitable.

Feeding is generally not required for Zoas as they primarily rely on photosynthesis for energy. However, occasional spot feeding with phytoplankton or finely ground coral foods can encourage faster growth and larger polyps. Maintain stable water parameters: Temperature 74-78ยฐF, Salinity 1.024-1.026, Alkalinity 8-12 dKH, Calcium 400-450 ppm, and Magnesium 1300-1400 ppm. Consistent water quality is more important than hitting exact numbers.

Zoas are generally peaceful corals, but care should be taken to provide adequate space, as some species can sting neighboring corals if they grow too close. When introducing new Zoas to your tank, a standard drip acclimation process over 30-60 minutes is recommended to minimize stress. Monitor them closely for the first few days to ensure they adapt well to their new environment.

This WYSIWYG Red Zoas specimen is a fantastic opportunity to bring a burst of fiery color and lively polyps into your reef tank. Its hardiness and striking visual appeal ensure it will be a focal point, providing endless enjoyment as its colony expands and flourishes.

Our Quarantine Procedures

We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.

As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.

Fish

All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.

Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.

During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.

Coral

Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.

Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.

If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed

If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.

Payment & Security

We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.

Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
