Description

This WYSIWYG Red Zoas frag features vibrant red skirts with striking purple-blue centers and bright green mouths, creating a captivating contrast in any reef aquarium. Zoas are colonial polyps that spread readily, forming an attractive mat over rockwork. Their small size and diverse color patterns make them a favorite for adding intricate detail and pops of color to your scape. This particular morph is exceptionally eye-catching and will be a focal point in your tank.

Zoanthids are relatively easy to care for, making them suitable for both beginner and experienced reefers. They thrive under moderate PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation) levels, typically ranging from 75 to 150 PAR. While they can tolerate lower light, their coloration and growth may be diminished. Place them in an area with low to moderate water flow, enough to keep detritus from settling on the polyps but not so strong that it causes them to remain closed. They are not particular about placement and can be situated on various levels of the rockwork.

Zoas are primarily photosynthetic, meaning they derive most of their energy from your aquarium lighting. Supplemental feeding is generally not required but can promote faster growth and larger polyps. If you choose to feed, offer finely diced meaty foods like mysis shrimp or specialized zoanthid foods. Maintain stable water parameters: Temperature 74-78F, Salinity 1.024-1.026, Alkalinity 8-12 dKH, Calcium 400-450 ppm, and Magnesium 1300-1400 ppm. Consistent water quality is key to their long-term health.

These Red Zoas are generally peaceful but can sometimes extend mesenterial filaments if placed too close to other corals, especially more aggressive species. Provide adequate space between them and other corals to prevent chemical warfare or stinging. When acclimating, use a drip acclimation method over 30-60 minutes to slowly introduce them to your tank's water parameters. Once acclimated, they will typically open within a few hours to a day, bringing immediate beauty to your reef.

Red Zoas are an excellent choice for adding dynamic color and visual interest to your reef tank without demanding extensive care. Their resilience and ability to form colorful colonies make them a rewarding addition. Enjoy the striking visual appeal and ease of care that these beautiful polyps bring, enhancing the biodiversity and aesthetic of your aquatic environment.

Our Quarantine Procedures

We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.

As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.

Fish

All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.

Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.

During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.

Coral

Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.

Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.

If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed

If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.

Payment & Security

We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.

Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
