Yellow & Teal Alveopora

Alveopora, often called Flowerpot Coral, is an attractive LPS coral known for its long, flowing polyps that create a soft, flower-like appearance. This particular specimen presents a striking yellow and teal combination, offering a vibrant focal point for many reef aquariums. This piece measures approximately Frag. It is a relatively peaceful coral, bringing gentle movement to a mixed reef. An established aquarium provides the best environment for Alveopora to thrive. Generally, these corals do not extend sweeper tentacles, making them good neighbours for most other inhabitants. Their polyps typically extend fully during the day. This coral forms a small, branching or massive skeleton, with individual polyps emerging from distinct skeletal cups. The polyps are long and delicate, swaying in the current, and display a beautiful mix of yellow and teal hues. The yellow is most prominent on the tips or main body of the polyps, complemented by the subtle teal undertones or bases, creating an appealing contrast. For best results, Yellow & Teal Alveopora prefers moderate lighting, ideally around 100-150 PAR. Flow should be moderate and indirect, enough to keep detritus from settling on the polyps without constantly blasting them. Place this coral on the sandbed or a lower to mid-level rockwork, ensuring it has space for full polyp extension. While primarily photosynthetic, offering zooplankton or fine particulate foods a few times a week can encourage growth and vibrant colouration. Maintain stable water parameters: Calcium 400-450 ppm, Alkalinity 8-10 dKH, and Magnesium 1300-1400 ppm. Ensure good water quality to prevent tissue recession.

Fish

All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.

Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.

During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.

Coral

Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.

Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.

If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed

If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
