Description

This stunning Zoanthus Garden features a vibrant mix of colorful polyps, showcasing shades of purple, blue, green, and orange. Each polyp opens up to reveal a star-like pattern, creating a captivating display. This piece is a true garden of zoas, offering a diverse array of colors and textures that will instantly become a focal point in any reef aquarium. Its dynamic appearance changes based on lighting, offering new appreciation every day.

Zoanthus are relatively easy to care for, making them suitable for both beginner and experienced reef keepers. They prefer moderate PAR levels (50-150 PAR) and moderate water flow to keep detritus from settling on the polyps. Placement on the sandbed or lower rockwork is ideal. While largely photosynthetic, occasional spot feeding with zooplankton or finely crushed flake food can enhance growth and color and is greatly appreciated. Acclimate using a standard drip acclimation procedure over 30-60 minutes.

Maintain stable water parameters for optimal health. Recommended ranges are: Temperature 72-78°F, Salinity 1.024-1.026, Alkalinity 8-12 dKH, Calcium 400-450 ppm, and Magnesium 1250-1350 ppm. Regular water changes and a good filtration system are crucial. Ensure proper nutrient export to prevent nuisance algae, which can smother polyps.

Zoanthus are generally peaceful but can be aggressive towards other corals if contact is made. Allow ample space between Zoanthus and other coral species to prevent chemical warfare or stinging. They will readily colonize available rockwork, forming beautiful mats over time. Keep an eye out for common pests like zoanthid-eating nudibranchs or sundial snails, though these are relatively rare with proper quarantine.

This Zoanthus Garden is an excellent choice for adding a splash of diverse color and lively movement to your reef tank. Its resilience and striking appearance make it a rewarding addition, creating a miniature ecosystem of vibrant polyps. Enjoy the ever-changing beauty of this living, growing masterpiece.

Our Quarantine Procedures

We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.

As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.

Fish

All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.

Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.

During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.

Coral

Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.

Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.

If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed

If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.

Payment & Security

We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.

Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
