Description
Description
The Red Sea REEF-FRAME 170 is a compact saltwater aquarium for reefkeepers who prefer to choose their own equipment. Its 60 cm-long display, cabinet, sump and plumbing provide the starting point; you decide how to light, filter and circulate the reef.
This is the standard aquarium system, not the REEF-FRAME MAX equipment package. The cabinet is available in Black, White or Oak finish.
Why choose the REEF-FRAME 170?
The short display suits a focused rockscape without taking up a long section of wall. Eurobracing reinforces the upper glass perimeter, while the plywood cabinet supports the aquarium underneath. The central overflow has removable comb sections, making routine cleaning easier to reach.
A ReefGate valve provides fine adjustment of the main drain. The supplied sump accepts conventional mechanical filtration and has a removable section for a compatible ReefMat upgrade. ReefMat-ready does not mean a roller filter is included.
Specifications
| Nominal total system volume | 174 L |
|---|---|
| Display / sump water volume | 136 L / 39 L |
| Display dimensions, length × width × height | 60 × 53 × 50 cm |
| Overall system height, without lighting | 137 cm |
| Return outlet | 1 × 25 mm |
| Cabinet finish options | Black, White or Oak |
Volumes are nominal and rounded, so component figures may not add precisely to the published total. Rock, sand and operating water levels affect the actual water volume. Oak describes the finish, not solid-oak construction.
What is included?
REEF-FRAME 170 glass aquarium, selected cabinet, in-cabinet sump, factory plumbing with ReefGate valve and return outlet, and supplied mechanical filtration components.
What else will you need?
Lighting and mounts, a return pump, circulation pumps, protein skimmer, heater and any automatic top-off or monitoring equipment are separate purchases. A ReefMat roller filter, salt, rock, sand and livestock are also not included. Select equipment for your intended coral and fish stocking rather than tank volume alone.
Planning your installation
Allow room to open the cabinet and remove equipment for servicing. Check the delivery route, floor suitability and exact installation drawing before ordering. Ask EasternMarine Aquariums to confirm availability, aquarium freight and the applicable New Zealand warranty and registration terms; overseas extended-warranty offers may differ.
Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
Payment & Security
We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
