Description
Description
The Red Sea REEF-FRAME 500 is the largest model in the REEF-FRAME range, with a 150 cm-long display and a nominal 515 L total system volume. It provides the aquarium, cabinet, sump and plumbing for a substantial reef while leaving the equipment choices in your hands.
Choose Black, White or Oak cabinet finish. This listing is for the standard system without the MAX hardware bundle.
A larger display without a prescribed equipment package
The extra length provides room to separate coral groups and build an aquascape with open swimming and flow paths. Eurobracing reinforces the upper glass perimeter, and the plywood cabinet supports the aquarium while housing the sump and equipment.
Two curved 25 mm return outlets distribute return flow. The main drain uses Red Sea's ReefGate valve for fine adjustment, and the overflow comb sections can be removed for cleaning. A removable mechanical filtration compartment allows a compatible ReefMat to be fitted when you are ready to add automated fleece filtration.
Specifications
| Nominal total system volume | 515 L |
|---|---|

| Overall system height, without lighting | 142 cm |
| Return outlets | 2 × 25 mm |

Nominal volumes are not a substitute for measuring the water added during setup. Rock, sand and operating levels change the usable volume. Oak describes a finish rather than solid-oak construction.
Included
REEF-FRAME 500 aquarium, selected cabinet, sump, factory plumbing with ReefGate valve and return outlets, and supplied mechanical filtration components.
Additional equipment required
Budget separately for suitable lighting and mounts, a return pump, circulation pumps, skimmer, heater, automatic top-off and any monitoring system. A ReefMat roller filter is optional and not supplied. Rock, sand, salt and livestock are not included.
Planning a system of this size
Consider ongoing water preparation, maintenance access and equipment running costs alongside the aquarium purchase. Confirm the delivery route, floor suitability and service clearances before installation. Contact EasternMarine Aquariums for equipment matching, availability, aquarium freight and the applicable New Zealand warranty and registration terms.
Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
Payment & Security
We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
