Description
Description
The Red Sea REEFER S-550 G3+ is the starting point in the REEFER-S range for aquarists who want a substantial reef system without moving to its longest displays. It is supplied as an aquarium, cabinet, sump and plumbing package with ReefControl Pro and automatic top-off.
This is the G3+ base system. It does not include the lighting and filtration hardware supplied in a MAX bundle.
Design the equipment around your reef
The eurobraced ultra-clear glass display gives you a reinforced foundation for a planned coral aquascape. Keep the maintenance route to the rear glass and lower rockwork in mind when laying out the reef, not just the view from the front.
The sump houses equipment below the display, and the ReefGate valve provides fine control over the main drain. The mechanical filtration section is ReefMat-ready, so a compatible roller filter can be added separately.
Control and monitoring
| Model | REEFER S-550 G3+ |
|---|---|
| Glass construction | Eurobraced ultra-clear glass |
| Controller supplied | ReefControl Pro |
| Top-off system | Included ATO module with temperature monitoring |
| Controller capacity | Up to seven ReefSense probes or sensors and two 12 V DC devices |
| Cabinet finish | Black or White |
Additional probes and ReefControl Power equipment are optional. The included controller does not mean every monitoring function is supplied.
What is included?
S-550 G3+ aquarium, selected cabinet, sump, factory plumbing with ReefGate valve, ReefControl Pro and ATO module.
What needs to be added?
Lighting and mounts, return pump, circulation pumps, skimmer, heater and any ReefMat roller filter are separate. Also allow for water preparation, salt, rock, sand, testing and livestock; this is not a ready-stocked aquarium.
Installation and ordering
Request the current S-550 G3+ technical drawing, water-volume breakdown and sump layout before finalising equipment or cabinetry. Do not assume an older-generation specification applies. Check floor suitability and service access, then confirm availability, aquarium freight and New Zealand warranty and registration terms with EasternMarine Aquariums.
Our Quarantine Procedures
Our Quarantine Procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
Fish
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Coral
Our coral is quarantined for a minimum of 3 weeks, just like fish. During this time, regular water changes are performed, water testing done, and once a month a Fauna Marin ICP Total is performed.
Corals are inspected for pests/general health and are provided with a pest dip once a week for at least 3 weeks.
If we see signs of pests, the quarantine period is extended and/or additional dips are performed
If coral is bleached/unhealthy, it will remain in quarantine until healthy enough to sell.
Payment & Security
We offer a number of different payment methods, including Credit Card, Afterpay, Q Card, Pay at Collection, Bank Transfer and POLi.
Credit card payments are processed securely using the highest possible security protocols.
