Our quarantine procedures
Our quarantine procedures
We take livestock seriously. That's why we don't sell anything we wouldn't be comfortable putting in our own tank.
As we are direct from source, we import and sell direct to the public. This means you can buy with confidence knowing EMA prides itself on excellent handling and conditioning protocols.
All our fish held in a quarantine system for a minimum of 3 weeks. During this time, regular water changes are performed, and twice daily (or sometimes more) feedings are performed.
Copper is dosed and checked twice a day for ich and velvet.
During this treatment fish are given formalin baths for brooklynella and a minimum of 3 praziquantel doses is performed for flukes.
Description
Description
Micromussa lordhowensis, still widely known across the hobby as the Acan Lord, is a classic large polyp stony coral celebrated for its fleshy polyps and rich patterns. Natural grafted specimens are particularly intriguing colonies where distinct colour morphs naturally fuse and coexist within the same skeleton, creating a mosaic of contrasting pigments across the corallites.
This specimen measures approximately 13cm across and features dense, compact polyps with well-developed skeletal structure. Under typical reef lighting, the polyps expand into plump cushions that partially obscure the underlying corallite walls, displaying the distinct grafted zones side by side. During daytime hours the fleshy tissue swells to catch light, while feeding tentacles emerge readily in the evening or whenever food is introduced to the water column.
Caring for this Acan Lord requires moderate conditions to keep it thriving. Provide low to moderate indirect water flow to keep debris clear without folding the delicate tissue over the skeletal septa. Aim for moderate lighting in the range of 75 to 150 PAR, making the sandbed or lower rockwork an ideal placement. Maintain standard reef chemistry with calcium around 420 to 440 ppm, alkalinity between 8 and 9 dKH, and magnesium near 1300 to 1350 ppm. Target feeding with finely chopped meaty foods, mysis, or dedicated LPS pellets once or twice a week supports steady growth and thick tissue. Give it a few centimetres of clearance from aggressive neighbours, as it possesses sweeper tentacles capable of stinging nearby corals, and acclimate it gently to your display lighting.
This is a WYSIWYG item, so you'll receive the exact specimen pictured.
Please note that colours can look slightly different in person than in photos, depending on your lighting and screen, and the size given is an approximate guide measured at the time of listing.
